Shoe Shine Service

Appropriately located outside Church’s, shoe shine specialist Romi Topi has been polishing shoes for the good and the great of Mayfair since 2001.

Topi’s process involves first cleaning the leather, then applying a leather dye around the edges of the soles and heels. This is followed by a leather lotion, followed by a polish and final buff. He insists that by taking care of your footwear in this way, they will both look better and last longer.

Crockett & Jones Retail Safety Measures

All staff and customers will be required to use available hand sanitiser gel on entering all our stores.

All devices in store will be sanitised after each use, including: Telephones, credit card machines, keyboards and screens.

We will be managing the number of customers in store at any one time to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe, making it possible to adhere to our government’s social distancing measures. This may result in a short wait in our controlled queuing system outside our stores during busy periods.

Social distancing will be in place in our stores. We promise to continue to provide you with a retail experience of the highest level. We will uphold our usual professionalism, kindness and courteousness, albeit at distance with a sanitised shoe horn in hand!

To make you feel at ease when trying shoes on, we are enforcing a 48 hour Quarantine period on all tried on products and holding them in a dedicated area in our stockroom, before being made available for general use.

Our final promise, is to work with our customers as and when required. If you have special requirements that will make you feel at home in our retail stores, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of our retail team. They have all received training on our new trading environment and will always place the safety of our customers before all else.

Kwanpen

Crocodile leather is notoriously hard to work with, but Singapore-based house Kwanpen has turned it into an art form – its craftsmen must undergo a rigorous apprenticeship under an experienced master before they can work with the precious skins.

Each bag is made by hand, fitted with gold or palladium-plated hardware and takes around 30 hours to complete.

This skill and care is evident in the finished products, which include timeless bags and briefcases, belts and footwear. The Burlington Arcade boutique is the brand’s only store outside of Asia and offers both men’s and women’s collections.

Known for its classic men’s Oxfords, Monk Straps and boots, Church’s is the footwear of choice for well-dressed men across the globe.

Established in the shoemaking stronghold of Northampton in 1873, it was the first footwear company to offer half-sizes and to create different shoes for the left and right foot.

Owned by the Prada Group since 1999, Church’s has since launched sneakers, slippers and a highly regarded women’s collection. All Church’s shoes continue to be manufactured in Northampton, and each pair takes eight-to-ten weeks to make.
