One of the longest-standing tenants of the Burlington Arcade, N.Peal was born in 1936 as a haberdashery store. Founder Nat Peal started selling luxury knitwear after discovering a source in the Shetland Islands, where he was stationed during the Second World War. By the 1950s, Peal was considered Britain’s ‘King of Cashmere’, with customers including Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and Princess Grace of Monaco. Today, the flagship store is a three level showcase for the men’s, women’s and homeware collections. Cashmere specialist, Adam Holdsworth is the current owner. Neville, the store’s longest serving employee of forty years, is on hand to offer a bespoke service in the private suite, where customers are fitted to have any style in any colour and shape, knitted to order. In addition to many high profile customers, N.Peal is also an official James Bond partner with its sweaters worn by the secret agent in the films Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die. These featured styles are available in the Burlington Arcade store, where clients can learn about the exciting role they had to play, along with its latest winter collection inspired by the Yorkshire Dales.
